Your Big Break Ends Arizona Entertainer of the Year Program

It is with great sadness that we announce that Your Big Break will no longer continue to promote the National Entertainer of the Year contest under the Arizona Entertainer of the Year franchise. Over the past two years, despite our best efforts, the program has not achieved the level of success or financial sustainability we had anticipated. As a nonprofit organization, it is essential that we make responsible financial decisions to protect the long-term health of our mission and operations.

Our intention with this program was to elevate Arizona’s drag entertainers onto a national stage, and we are proud to have accomplished that goal for two years. However, the rising costs of travel, accommodations, and production have placed the program beyond what our current budget can sustain.

After careful consideration, the Board of Directors have determined that the best path forward is to shift our efforts toward a local initiative—one that continues to uplift the drag community while strengthening our ties to organizations that have supported us through their community grants programs.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our Arizona Entertainer of the Year titleholders—Rita Bana, Roman Holliday, Wilma Carstart, and Mr. Wolf. Their dedication, artistry, and leadership over the past two years have left an indelible mark, and they will forever hold their place in the history of Arizona Entertainer of the Year.
